Directions by car: From the A30 turn off toward Bodmin and follow directions towards Wadebridge, Bypass Wadebridge and turn onto the A39.

Turn right following the A389 towards Padstow. After passing through St Issey and Little Petherick turn right taking the B3274 towards Padstow.

Enter the outskirts of Padstow passing a Tesco supermarket on the right hand side. Continue to follow the road ahead as it slopes down the hill and bends round to the left.

Follow the signs, turning right for Padstow harbour. At the bottom the the hill, the road switch backs to continue to Padstow harbour (straight on takes you into the ‘Station’ car park.

Pass the entrance to the Harbour Commissioners’ car park. When you reach the harbour, the road turns left (at the Old Custom House). The harbour side road then has a left fork uphill (Strand Street). Take this and 20m up on the left side is the pedestrian entrance to Commercial Terrace (there is no vehicular access).

‘Portloe’ cottage is at the end of the terrace accessed through a private iron gate.
